View Full Version : Anyone a fan of the F word?? shells2909 28-06-2006, 20:13 Just wondered if any of you watch the F word???? i love it, Gordon is sooo funny in a scary sort of way!! weenireeni 28-06-2006, 20:18 im watching it for 1st time tonight, so far not all that impressed. doesnt help that im annoyed having to wait another hour for big brother  Rich 28-06-2006, 20:23 The F word? Gets you in trouble off the Mods that! :D Bago 28-06-2006, 22:07 Yeh, I do watch it when I catch it on tv. I didn't think he is such a rude so and so before, but tonight, I changed my mind. He is quite patronising... I can't believe that he served donuts as fine-dining food. I thought the dog food recipe experiment was a tad demeaning to his fellow celebrity chefs. I also notice that every time he has a competition with another celebrity, his recipes always comes second. Why is that ? Even though he's won Michelin stars for his food, but the general consensus seems to differ. Talking about the seabass...and him moaning that his apprentices wasted so many. I almost threw my cushion at the tele when he just grind so much pepper to kill off any 'fresh' taste of the expensive seabass (!) What is the point of using top ingredients only for u to mask it with heavy seasoning ? Steeewpid. nick2 29-06-2006, 09:14 The man is a tit. steve_sufc 29-06-2006, 09:16 Have you noticed he never swears at anyone that might actually bang him out? Lickable 29-06-2006, 09:23 I used to think he was great, but he is getting a bit big for his boots now. Why does he think its good TV reducing grown men to tears, Killing Pigs that hes named and let his children play with, and Making Cliff say his own brand wine is crap :O Did anyone else get shocked that Cliff said the F word :O absynthfairy 29-06-2006, 09:25 I giggled when Sir Cliff said his own wine was rank - thought he was a good sport about it though! NEKRO138 29-06-2006, 09:30 Gordon Ramsey is a turd. He swears on his programmes so your mum will watch and and go: "Oh! He can't say that can he!" And then watch the rest of it laughing. Load of ********. I wouldn't mind if he did a cooking programme but it's basically a bloke who's always wanted to be an offensive comedian being a knob. Plain Talker 29-06-2006, 09:33 I giggled when Sir Cliff said his own wine was rank - thought he was a good sport about it though! It made me chuckle, too, I tuned in last night, specificallly to see that bit, as it had been so hyped up in the papers about a supposed confrontation between GR and CR. The way it was reported was that there was a huge "to-do" where cliff swore at GR and told him to "f-off / go to hell " or something equally explosive and controversial. That was a bit of a let down, I was hoping to seee a bit of "reality" about Cliff. *shrugs* Meh. PT NEKRO138 29-06-2006, 09:38 "No, I can't swear! Not on TV!" "Go on Cliff, who knows, you might get another Xmas number 1!" "Really?" "Yeah! And you'll get in the papers too! We'll tell them about it before the show even airs." "Wow! I've not been in since I had a colostomy bag fitted!" nick2 29-06-2006, 11:09 I wouldn't mind if he did a cooking programme but it's basically a bloke who's always wanted to be an offensive comedian being a knob. Exactly, you don't very often see him cook anything, I think his staff do the cooking in his restaurant. Zinger549 29-06-2006, 14:46 does anybody have a copy of last nights episode with cliff Richard I missed it nick2 29-06-2006, 14:58 Cliff must be a bit dim if he din't twig that he was doing a wine tasting, and he makes wine, it's so obviously a set-up. KingMaker 29-06-2006, 15:42 Ramsey's a one trick pony, lucky for him that the tv companies have bought into this trick but's it getting a little tiresome, and Ramsay will probably fade from the scene pretty quickly. At least Jean Cristof Novelli actual looks like he's pretty handy in the kitchen, Ramsey doesn't. Maybe the Frenchmen should invite Ramsey into his kitchen so that any verbal abuse that Ramsey dishes out will be met with a flying plate to his face! Lickable 29-06-2006, 15:45 Hasn't he signed a stupidly long deal with 4? He is gunna be around forever :( Swan_Vesta 06-07-2006, 13:16 I watched this the other night and something really hacked me off about it; It was while he was showing the preparation of the dishes that someone has deemed it necessary to say "Yeah, We're cool we're minimalist - lets discard the use of normal language" so you end up with the following: Bream! Bone! Score! Cling film! Simmering water! Simmer! Unwrap! Peas and bacon! Serve! Instead of a far more acceptable: Take your piece of bream, debone it and score the scale side. Now, wrap in cling file and place in a pan of simmering water for approximately 8 minutes, when the bream is nice and firm to the touch remove it from the cling film and place on top of the peas and bacon. See! Which is more audiably appealing? A gentle series of easy to follow instructions or a mental celebrity with tourettes barking random words at you in a staccato fashion over a piece of purposeful music. Rich 06-07-2006, 13:23 If anybody's taped the Sir Cliff episode, can we borrow the tape please? My Mum's a Cliff fanatic you see. banesmabes 06-07-2006, 13:24 For last night's programmes he seemed to pick dishes that were obviously not going to go down well with the customers. Yes, they took a long time to cook, but so have previous weeks, but not nearly as many refused to pay. Starter was scrambled eggs on toast. A lot of people said they didn't like it because the egg was too soft (which I'd agree with, it look raw almost!), but he just argued that they were wrong. Main course was poached fish, which would be nice, if it didn't have it's skin on still and so instead looked really slimy. Surely if you're leaving the skin on most people prefer it crispy? And then one of the customers summed up the dessert perfectly - 'glorified tinned fruit and custard' was exactly what it looked like. Makes me wonder whether his menu choice had anything to do with the amateur chefs all being women....:suspect: *Twinkle* 06-07-2006, 13:28 I don't think theres any need for his language, to be quite honest... How rude?! :o Got some good recipe ideas from his show though :) Beakerzoid 06-07-2006, 16:03 Laughed last night when the complaints about the fish being 'watery' were rebuked with "they're f**king poached!". It was my thought exactly. As for the eggs...I am a lover of 'soft, light and runny' scrambled so was really getting hungry when they made them. I'm hooked on the show and love Gordon's 'no-s**t' and 'speak your mind' approach. Looking forward to next week as it looks like one of the contestants is gonna give as good as he gets. sanman 06-07-2006, 16:51 I must admit I like the show and Gordon Ramsey, the litlle clip it shows at the end for next weeks show loooks good. Gordon doing is hair dryer on some poor schmuck who truns round angrily and says " I just want you to tell me once Mr Ramsey and then shut the f*** up!" it must be worth watching just to see what Gordons response is going to be. |
