hello,

I need info on the old cinema - adelphi in attercliffe sheffield.

What is it used for now? I heard somewhere that it was a community centre, butdont know if this is still the case.

Does anyone have a contact number for it?

The Adelphi had a spell as a nightclub a couple of years back but not sure about it's present use, good luck in your pursuit.

I think it IS still a night club to be honest.

My information is a little out of date, but I worked in that area up till march of 2001, and after being empty for a number of years, it was turnmied into a nightclub that had very little success, it had been closed for the best part of a year when I left Sheff.

I remember the Adelphi from donkey’s years ago. Saw Charlie Chaplin there in an old silent film called Modern Times. I believe it was an ice rink at one time, but I don’t know whether that was befoore it became a cinema or after. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

When it first opened as a nightclub (i think it was 2000/2001) they played music from the 60's,70's,80's & 90's & then in 2003 i took my partner there & when we got in we felt right out of place because all we could see was 17/18 year olds drinking bottled water, smoking the funny stuff, wearing tracksuits & baseball caps listening to rave music,i was gutted because it cost a tenner each to get in.I'm not sure now if they've shut the place down.

I saw some advertisements stuck to lampposts a couple of weeks ago saying a nightclub was operating there now. Every time I drive passed at night time it is all lit up with blue lights.
