View Full Version : Can you recommend somewhere to get a haircut for a toddler?
hi
I have a 2 year old niece with a puding bowl haircut
Nowt wrong with that but Im looking after her one day next week and have been thinking about taking her for a nice hair cut.
Not Vidal Sassoon, just someone who knows how to treat a toddler and will do a nice cut.
Any rec's?
Near to Greenhill a bonus but happy to travel
cheers

er, does her mum know you're planning this?
This could be the last time you get to spend time with her if you 'over step the mark' ;)
Grim Reaper 28-06-2006, 19:29 Indeed, you need to make sure you get her mums permission, us mums are lethal if someone alters anything to do with our "little darlings" especially their hair - :D
Hmm, just about starting to get up the courage to think about possibly maybe taking our 18 month old for a haircut. I think we need a really patient hairdresser/barber - Let me know how you go on

Like others have said, I hope you have permission. If not I reckon her mother will be looking for a modern day Sweeney Todd for you sonny Jim.

Were it to have been about a nephew, I would have no qualms about recommending the purchase of a set of electric clippers and seeing how an all-over No4 or No6 can look very smart.
£5 to £10 for clippers ... money back within a month or two!

Sorry!
I assume that you mean with regard to parental permission.
Yes. I agree. (No permission ... No cut!)
I was just adding to the general tonsorial discussion.
In fact, I think that, if, without permission, you carry out the deed yourself, you are heading for a disaster 10 times worse than taking the child to a professional (without permission)!

My wife takes our daughter to Moorview on Chesterfield Rd. She's been going there since she was about 2

*vanessa* 29-06-2006, 20:10 Hi I take my 18 month old to Pomade at Totley Rise, Rebecca does it(she's lovely) it costs a fiver, but you would probably have to book.
Whatever you do - Don't go to Alan Paul at Meadowhall - I took my 22 month old there about 3 weeks ago and am disgusted at the job they did. None of it is straight - the back or fringe and it was cut into terribly. She does sit and sits well - but after 40 minute of butchering, it was a joke.
I have called to complain and could have gone down to see the Manager, but to be honest - I wouldn't even let them anywhere near her hair again to try and correct it, I wouldn't take the chance. I am just waiting for it to grow grow grow now and hopefully will find a good hairdresser to trim it eventually - If not, I'll do it myself (I would have done a better job this time!)
Just a warning!
