Could anyone tell me of a good campsite along the Sheffield - Manchester train route (so Edale, Hope, Hathersage, etc) that wouldn't mind a large(ish) group of *sensible* teenagers?

Hmm. Probably depends on what you mean by 'large; and 'sensible'. I know some sites have policys against large groups especially if they are all the same sex.

you could try fieldhead in edale, or north lees near stanage (about 20mins walk from hathersage)

Greenacres just before the turning for Edale (or after if you're coming from Mam Tor) is a reasonable, basic campsite. Also has a separate field so I'm sure an amount of distance could be built in from other campers. £6 per tent per night.

That's strange....I would have thought that mixed groups would cause more, erm.....disruption
