Depends how they're encoded but probably 60 or so tracks, possibly a few more.

About 120 tracks in MP3 format or double the amount in WMA format.

I have a 512 ipod and it can hold about 105 songs (though the write up said it could hold 120). I guess some of my songs are just big.

As a VERY rough guide - and of course, it depends how the tracks are encoded - 1MB is roughly 1 minute of music.

All of my music is 192k encoded MP3 and when writing a CD for the car (700MB CD) I get 120 - 150 tracks per disc.

it totally depends on the length of the tracks and the quality... but for small sized players like that 1mb per minute is a good rough guide for 128kbps mp3's... you might be better off with WMA at lower bitrates like that as it handles a bit better, and most players these days handle WMA as well as MP3...

personally I have some tracks that are over 50mb... so 4mb per track doesnt always work ;)
