rabbit:confused:
I don't have a clue what this is about. Is it just me, or is everyone talking about it, whatever it is?
Captain_Scarlet 08-06-2004, 13:49 Where are those days when people actually called firemen firemen and not firefighters ?
Buggered if I know, Squire.
Chap'll have to spill the beans if he wants to gab on about it.
Everything you need to know to know what he's rabbitting on about:

it should be no Athens debacle, Sheffield did the world student games many moons ago and it was so good a lot of the buggas never went home...lol. You should be ok for a few good beers over here we actually put names on em and the ones not good enough are binned. we don't allow xxxx on the tinnys. It's opinions like these that slow down the intake of women and people from ethnic origin backgrounds applying to join the Fire Service.
dylan_61 09-06-2004, 09:08 I wouldn't bet on it.
I imagine they'll be on strike again campaining for a two day week so they have more time to go to their other jobs.
They're all work shy
hey
well very soon we will be in your fine city.
myself and another three firefighters from aussie will be in town competing and during our stay we would like to see the sights meet some locals and enjoy some good times , music, dancing and of course thrown in with the odd drink or 27.
hopefully we can catch up and enjoy sheffield nightlife.
regards
rabbit
How many days till they are finished???
Welcome to Sheffield Rabbit.
I'm sure -despite the cynicism about previous sporting events
in the city -you'll enjoy your stay.
Not a lot of interest yet in the Firefolks Games. The local news has been dominated by allegations of all kinds about the top brass in the Sheffield Fire Service. But hopefully all this should have fizzled out by the time you arrive.
By the way -Rabbit that's a funny name for an Ozzie.Thought all the bunnies had been wiped out by max ..mixymo...some disease years back.
Lindseyw 18-06-2004, 13:26 Where on earth are you all staying ????

Good Stuff Rabbit - you will be most welcome to Sheffield, it is a terrific city with good people and good beer. I am sure you will have a wonderful time and you will have no shortage of people to drink with. I can't think of a better place for these games to be held as our city has everything you need to have a seriously good time.
fair play rabbit. where you sectioned, s yorks will win. wot you entered in
hey people,
it is fantastic that people are starting to take notice of some poor aussies enthusiasm and efforts in talking up your games.
but hey i am all for it .
as an aussie i usally compete in the swimming but having sustained a shoulder injury( bending a few at the bar) that needed a full reconstruction i havent been able to do the required training.
so during the past 18 mths for rehab, i have been competeing in tennis and was fortunate to do very well , sufficent to win a few "over the hill" tournaments.and presto along with a doubles partner who is 6ft 4inch we made it.
so going on curent english tennis players ( is there any good ones?) i think we'll be looking to the USA teams for some good matches. hahahahaha joking
:D
we will be staying at Victora hall student accomodation on eldon road.
have no idea where that is or what its like.
but there will be a opening ceremony and competitors march on the 28th of august.
we will be marching from devionshire green about 1.45pm and marching down to the peace gardens for the officail opening ceremony and thendispersing for a welcome dinner and of course much drinking and dancing to be held out at the don valley bowl ( what ever that is)
which will also double as the games village where there will be a lot of happening things going on.
hope to see you all there
