Hey up Timbuck, how you keeping

Yes, the old Non Pots Club, on the corner of Effingham Road is still standing. My uncles, all steelworkers (now sadly gone) went in there in the 60's and 70's and The Moulders across the road.
As Trekker says, I think it's some sort of gay bar now. I'll ibe going down "the cliffe" later today so I will try to get you a photo.

Down which road Trekker ?

I worked down Stevenson road at Alloy Steel Rods in the late 70's. Used to go in the Non Pots for a pint or two Saturday lunchtime if we got the overtime. Pie and Peas laid on as well.

It was a very popular club with people who'd been moved out of Attercliffe during the slum clearance who would come from all over Sheffield at weekends.

Its no longer gay.
Its now the "Dancing Dollar Pole and Lap Dancing Club".

The Polish and Laplanders where a bit thin on the dance floor, when I was there earlier today, though.

As promised, Timbuck.

Thanks for pic's Pietro...The old Club has been through a lot of changes since I was last there, I could only recognise it due to the unusual brickwork, the main double door is a mod: when was this added ???.

One of the my worst recollections of that club in the early seventies was of the doorman refusing a man entrance ,not because he hadn't a club card but because of the colour of his skin .It made me embarrassed to be white

Ah yes the Moulders club that was a good one to visit...What was the other family club in the Attercliff area, the one where the Concert Chairman always wore a Trilby hat. and there was a mobile shop in the outside yard, selling sweets and stuff.

I think it was the Attercliffe Radical Club which sold papers etc in the yard

Trekker, were you at Jonas and Colvers in the early sixties? My dad worked there until he died in 1964

I have it on good authority that this was the Attercliffe Rads Club on Roundel Street, just off Staniforth Road.

Only went in the Rads once but a former steward there came to Firth Park club as steward when I was a regular there. Name of Stan...but I can't for the life of me remember his surname, unless it was Fletcher.

Pietro....how do I get to view your albums ? Looks to be an interesting site

Greybeard, the photos are my own personal photos stored online. THe majority are taken as I travel around Shefffield (when I'm supposed to be working).

For any ex-pats out there , if there are any photos you want of Sheffield (present day), send me a PM and I will see what I can find and If I don't have it I will take it for you.[

I'm amazed by the photo's..what a state the club is in now.
How many other clubs have gone in the last 40 years, what about the Hillsboro clubs, The Social club, the La Plata, The Ozzie Owl.

Hillsborough WMC's still going strong and hasn't changed much in the last 40 odd years. I used to go there as a kid 'cos my mum and dad could take me in as opposed to a regular pub where they could'nt.

They had a dodgy set of bingo tickets one night, and everyone in the club shouted "house" when the number 59 came out.

Oh, how we laughed!
