Used the laptop & didnt notice the power wasnt switched on until it warned me battery was almost out! (Doh). It is now charging but how long to I have to wait before I can start using it again please?

It will continute to charge while you are using it, you don't need to switch it off!

I tried that, but it just turned itself off again!

are you sure it's charging ? when it's on mains it should charge the battery and let you work if it doesn't then summats up

The batteries tend to die if there not used. I always use mine from the mains now mine will not hold a charge at all, even though I never used the battery.:huh:

If it's a brand new laptop, the manual should tell you all you need to know. Also there should be a light to show it's plugged into the mains as well as another light, or the same light in a different colour to show that it's charging.

Can you confirm the status of any of these lights when it's plugged in?

even if the battery is completely dead or even if it's been removed the machine should still run on mains though

True, my battery has been dead for over a year now but work great straight from the mains.:thumbsup:

I cycled mine today about an hour to discharge 'cos I didn't stop doing stuff and it's back up to 95% after about 3 hours
