Just bought a CD called High Dilution Therapy by Stocktonfoster, who are apparently a local avant-garde combo, but the web seems rather reticent on them, and so does the website of their record label, Audiolaceration (also Sheffield based). Does anybody know any more about them?

yeah....
two locals who had a period of collaboration which is now over. Well, there seems to be a new album in the window of rare and racy, though it is nothing to do with the stockton half of the equation.
There is another release by them (as a duo-as though random), a split with another sheff dude (lee knights) and a collaborative effort with them and others under the name concious/unconcious. Both are still producing tunes...one as stocktonfoster and possibly others, and the other as various projects.

pm for more info if desired as I am in contact with the former...

well . . .there was a copy of said cd in rare & racy . . .went in looking for the most anal looking (not a derogatory term) local band packaging to peruse at my leisure when i got home and lo and behold there was this anaglipta beauty held together with a paper clip and sold to me as "noise scape" . . .brilliant!!! i do enjoy getting a cd home seeing its only got 2 or 3 tracks on and the blighters an hour or there-abouts in length . . .last few times it happened granted it was gybe! so all's well and imagine my delight . .but still summat to look out for when buying things as far as i'm concerned . . and you say there's more album's/material from these two?? can you recommend any links/email any more of their stuff??? can you recommend owt similar . . . personally i think kinski are pretty much spot on, especially "alpine static", oh and dysrhythmia, although neither sound like this lot . . .

Interesting to see this thread surfacing again. I bought the Conscious/Unconscious CD from Cash Converters down by the market before it closed down, and it's pretty OK apart from one dreadful rap track and the fact that it's not all that long. I saw the 'new' StocktonFoster album in the window of Rare'n'Racy again the other day. Still don't know who they actually are though, but I'm getting the feeling one may be called Stockton and the other Foster after all.
