If God was one of us
just a slob like one of us
If god was one of us
trying to make his way home

as the old song goes, just heard it again so it stimulated me to post this thread

Would we know?

Oh yeah, you'd spot him a mile off with his big long flowing beard, most of the famous Gods have beards.

Not that I'm actually a believer in God of course, although I do sometimes wonder.

He'd better keep a low profile.

Half the world would want to have him prove their silly religions right and the other would want to string him up.

Best to stay a fictional character and the worst absentee parent in history rather than face the ire of those you've abandoned and allowed to be oppressed over all those millenia, eh?

In the Church of Classic Rock we have many disciples. From time to time God like characters appear who feel (after a few beers) that they can perform mammoth tasks and lead the congregation. We get the odd Satan, but they are usually asked to leave.

Then we have our own Rock Gods. You know the ones. They captivate the audience with their musical talents, amazing drum solos, perform miracles on guitars and get the audience behind them enough to raise their arms in praise and awe.

We have people who sing so beautifully we wonder if they are angels.

Amen

if god was real id poke him in the eye for allowing the bloke in sheffield with the sign saying "repent to god or u go to hell".

hes not real, hes just a myth made up by some bored people... unless in classic rock's case it woul be anyone from slash, to james hetfield, to chris cornell, to angus young, to freddie mercury.... you get the picture

I have to admit I dont believe in god but I do believe that things happen for a reason - does that make sense?
