Hi,

I would like some help concerning a tenancy agreement.
i am about to rent a flat for a short term, but I don't know exactly until when.
The estate agent proposed me to fix an "on-going" contract with a limit date.
Is it true that I will be able to leave when I want without paying more as the contract is written "on-going"?

Thanks

Jessica

there will probably be a notice period included in the contract, so you won't be able to say you want to leave and walk out the next day (well, you could walk out, but you'd have to pay until the end of the month).

It's unlikely that you'll get any contract that lets you give less than a few weeks notice as it means that the landlord has no chance of getting someone in as soon as you leave, and so they loose money whilst the property is empty.

And what happens if there is no notice period?
