I'm trying to find any info regarding Mellowes and Company Ltd.
They where manufactures of glazing systems and metal windows.
(See link below)
I know this company where in existance as far back as the early 1900's, so any information would be appreciated.

Hi Otters - what was your grandfather's name as I used to work in the offices at Mellowes in the early 50's and might have known him.
Hi Grandfathers name was Charles Jarvis, not sure if Dad ever worked for the same company he would be on the shop floor Brian
An addition to the gang which worked in Scunthorpe during the 50's, ( see my post on the thread mentioned by hillsboro) was a guy named Vin Norton. And possibly a Ken Eggleton. All of them were window fixers and made a fortune.

Hi again otters - rang a friend last night who still lives in the Sheffield area. We first met when we both started work at Mellowes and I rang to ask her if she remembers Charles Jarvis. She stayed at Mellowes a good many years after I left and she does remember "Mr Jarvis" has we had to call them then, no christian names! She says he was a real nice man and a gentleman.

My dad worked there years ago Barrie Fletcher
In the early 1960's I knew a George Clay who I think, had worked there in some sort of managerial capacity. He was the landlord of a pub in St Ives, Cambs by that time.

Hi Choirgirl thats so nice to hear of Grandad, I was only young when he past away so I only have very distant chilhood memories, one of us as children going and leaping on his bed when he was asleep not good for someone with a bad heart use to get a right ticking off from mum, and him being very jolly I'm sorry I do not know any names that use to work with him. It would be great to hear from any one who did know him or if dad ever worked there.
