One of the first lines in the film is "I was born into a world you probably won't understand!"
Well...she can say that again! What a garbled mess of a film! Scenes cut for no apparant reason, style over substance, terrible dialogue that would make George Lucas proud, and some of the worst acting in sci-fi since...well..Aeon Flux!
Well..who cares about all that so long as the action is good.
Too bad that it is terrible. The choreography for the (strangely bloodless) swordfights is shocking. You can see Milla Jovovich 'pull her punches' so badly that the fact that people are dying around her is laughable. One scene which could have been great, involving a rooftop gun and sword fight is a mess of 'zoom into sunglasses' shots. As for the ridiculous bike chase...less said the better.
Seriously...if you thought Aeon Flux was bad, then avoid this piece of rubbish.
Then again....it is one of those films that is so bad that you need to see it to realise how terrible sci-fi can be when in the wrong hands.
