Can anyone help me here. I have a morbid fear of opticians. I am due for an eye test at D&A on October the 7th and am already getting worked up about it.

I'm sure other people can relate to this but: what is the best way to approach this problem?.

Don't just say 'try to relax', I tried that last time and fell asleep in-between A And z

I recived a letter stating that it's time for my check up and I fear that I will need glasses now. My sight isn't as good since I got my computer because i've spent too much time on it:rolleyes:

Howcome you get letters sent? I havent had an eye test since i was about 6 in primary school and no one has ever sent me any letters. Do they only send them to people who wear glasses or have been for tests before?

yes I think so, once you have your eyes tested at a particular opticians, they keep your details on their files

I went into the opticians last week and said to the assistant 'I need glasses'

They keep sending me letters but the words are just too blurred to read.

If you're worried about passing the sight test just memorise the alphabet. That way, when they ask you to read off the eye chart you'll have a 1 in 26 chance of getting each letter right.
