Hoping some of you will be able to offer some advice. I don't want to go into too many details but in the near future I am going to have to help someone sell a couple of vans. Neither I or this other person know much about selling vans. I know that we could sell them privately but as between us we are pretty clueless I don't want us to get ripped off. Selling them to some kind of dealer would presumably we easier but would we get a lot less money for them?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

We sold a couple of vans when we had our last business. It depends enormously on the type of van, condition and so on. Smaller vans seem to go more quickly.

I would start by looking in Autotrader and on the net through Fish4cars to get an idea of what other people are asking both privately and through a dealer.

Ours did go eventually through an ad in Autotrader. A dealer will be offering rock bottom prices if you aren't trading them in. It does pay to get any obvious faults fixed and to sell with 12months MOT, and to present them as well as you can.
