What's the story? Why an advert with a Canadian lumberjack? I just don't get the connection in my head......
I've googled away and can't find anything so I've turned to you the Sheffield repository of useless knowledge...

Dunno.
Maybe because Canada is so big and the luberjack represents a guy who must work up quite a hunger. Only a BIG crisps (or potato chip) could satisfy that hunger pang.
BIG hunger - BIG Country - BIG crisps
I think that's right - I seem to recall when they were first launched there was an ad campaign featuring a lumberjack and a tag line similar to "the big chip from the big country" and a little "made in UK" logo (that's the bit that sticks in my mind)
Of course back then, the bags actually were big....

hmmm interesting.
See its confusing because crisps really aren't ethnic Canadian snacks, potatoes are more an Irish thing, and the Hatfield/McCoy feud was American...or McCoy could be a Scottish name.

They're just crisps... maybe you're looking too deep into the fact that they're just a quick snack :hihi:
