next clearance also has lines that are only sold at next clearence. They buy the fabric that was not used in making Next lines and create their own next clearence lines. They are part of the Next group but are seperate from Next (as in the one in Meadowhall). I know this becuase my wife has started work with them and I peeked in the staff handbook.

Popped in after work and they have really nice suit jackets (was £110 for full suit) the jackets are £15. Bargain

But like Damo said, it's all the horrible stuff they can't shift at full price.

I can remember when next was a quite high-end fashion brand, now it's pretty much the same as the George stuff at ASDA.

thankyou for letting me know this.(if people don't want to thanyou for contributing useful information, why do they bother commenting at all ?!)
I went to visit my sister in Leeds a few months ago,and spent over an hour hunting for bargains in the next clearance shop,I was amazed at how good and cheap it was,so glad one has come to Sheffield.People must spend so much clothing themselves at full price,so I for one am very pleased to have this info,as I rarely go near there and wouldn't of found it by chance.

why do u think everyone is rich and spends loads on clothes if they don't like next clearance? Im skint but dress nicely because I know where to shop. And I wouldn't go to next but thats not because of money its because I generally dislike it. Your so defensive, do you work for them or something?

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't Sheffield city centre have one ages ago (for a while) situated on the High St, where Blacks (camping outdoor shop) is now.....:|

All over, Debenhams, Aspecto, the shops on Division street, the internet, House of Fraser, ASDA, TKMaxx.

I don't like Next because they don't try, they don't inovate, they follow a few months behind everyone else, Top Man is more cutting edge than Next, in the past it was the other way round.

It's all subject to taste and the sizes they offer is an issue too.

For me it's just good news because another obvious "absent from Sheffield" shop has finally arrived.

I certainly take Nick2's valid point about the stock they *usually* have on offer, but to be fair I've also picked up more than one superb bargain on simple stuff like black shirts etc.etc. (nice ones!) from the Leeds branch in the past..

So overall, definitely a decent addition - and anything is better than an empty "dead" Readman's store - let's not forget that! (and Boots next door has proved to be a big hit and a welcome addition too)

/meersbrook: steps down from soapbox. lol

I agree with Meersbrook, it's a welcome relief to see a new shop on the retail park, particularly one that isn't a pound shop or similar - I feel we now have a good quality mix of shops on the retail park so I'm pleased, for one.

Also, they do great kids clothes there, good quality and great prices. We used to visit the one in Donny occasionally. Farmman picked up some stuff for the Cosycub yesterday at the Retail Park. I think he spent £15 and came home with three pairs of trousers and three shirts. In my books, that's a bargain. And I can tell you quite happily that the quality of those items is excellent.

My only complaint, and the reason I didn't go in myself, is that it was far too busy. I'm hoping it calms down a bit after the weekend. I thought everyone would be at home watching the match - instead half of Sheffield was in Next Clearance - mostly the female half, to be fair, lol.

Is it only clothes that they do there or do they have stuff for the home too?

Thanks for the info Betty1. My son buys a lot of designer stuff but he often goes to the Next clearance in Leeds for work clothes. A couple of months ago he bought a dinner suit for under £20, it would cost more than that to hire one.

Yes they have some household stuff as well.

Well said Cosywolf! You only have to compare say, Heeley Retail Park with Queens Road Retail Park to underline the "bonus" of the likes of Boots and NEXT opting to occupy the former Readman's store.

"What's in Store..." anyone?

No, I thought not!

Heeley RP 1, Queens Road RP 0 (FT)

Yes, it was called 'Next to Nothing' and was generally full of tat.
I'm hoping this new one is decidedly better!

Ive been to a few Next clearance shops - Sheffield, Lakeside (Doncaster) and Leeds and do tend to agree with Damo. I love Next clothes but can never really find a bargain in the Next clearance although my sister has bought quite a bit of stuff for her kids from there
