Hi, I'm almost 19 and I'm moving to Sheffield in September to study archaeology at the uni. I know a bit about the city because my boyfriend is also at uni there but if anyone could recommend anything to me I'd be grateful! I'm into rock/metal and indie music, and all things pagan! Also I'll be moving into Stephenson Hall and wondered if anyone could tell me anything about it! I'll be grateful for any help! Cheers! :D

Send a PM to Moon Maiden re: all things Pagan. She can give you the top advice!

Welcome, you'll like it here...in fact you may never leave
Do you fancy joining a re-enactment group, Mr Archeologist-to-be? 950-1100AD. Good laugh. Lots of beer.

All the best!

i definitely like the sound of the re-enactment group-if its the one at the university, I've heard a little bit about it! I like lots of beer and a good laugh. I'm a miss-archaeologist to be! :D

Stephenson Hall is within staggering distance of one of the all time best drinking areas of Sheffield: Broomhill. It is also within 500 yards of Sheffield's premier fencing club.

Nuff said, except welcome.

 Sorry, Miss.
The uni one is a bit later in time, if you catch my drift. But they were the first group I joined before moving onto a national one. We had a good laugh, and good beer. But of course I have to say that the one I'm in now is better  Especially if you're at all concerned about authenticity, which is Regia's strong horse (is that the right phrase? Oh dear, it's a bit early for me. It's strong SUIT isn't it? Doh...)

I live/work in one hall and have a friend who lives at Stevo. First of all its supposed to be the hall for all the 'posh' students :-) so that might be an advantage.
As with all the halls, the walls are paper thin [so keep ur boyfriend quiet] and there will be cliques and groups - so be careful; but generally at your age you will find life there to be fun.
If not, there is always the pastoral care team to help you out!
Enjoy your year
