Hello everyone,

I'm trying to sort out a birthday party in August with a mate but I want to find a decent summery venue. Ideally I'd like to find a nice pub not too far out of town with a bit of a view and where the owners may let us sort out a bit of a barbecue in return for the guaranteed couple of hundred quid that'll no doubt go over the bar. I don't know if anyone knows Lincoln too well but I wouldn't mind finding somewhere like the Pyewipe just on the A57 before you get to Lincoln (nice country pub next to the canal with loads of barges etc) or even Brandy Wharf, except around here.

At the moment I'm thinking about asking at the Riverside, it's got a nice enough view and a decent sized patio area but they do some good food so might not be too chuffed about us doing a barbecue. ALso I was thinking about the Bluwater place down by the Quayside near the Hilton hotel. Anyone know of any other places I can think about? Cheers for your help,

Mark

The Sportsman at the top of lodge moor would probably let you do it. They have a function tent and a great view. The beers good and the landlady is very friendly.

The 3 Merry Lads Pub just over the road from there is also good but I'm not sure they would let you have a BBQ there.
