To anyone that plays football, is there any difference between boots with studs, or if they are moulded studs with regrds to running etc..??

Thanks

as you probably know studs are better for soft ground, but mouldeds are better for doing turns with your foot on the balls etc. regards to running, no diffrence whatsoever, just make sure, if you want to run faster, to get a light pair of boots which are flexible on the ball of your foot. Puma Kings used to have a Duoflex Zone which enabkled the boot to bend easier at thta part of your foot. Do not buy blades which have a circular shape at the front end, or you will probably twist your knee when turning

Cool, so if i want to be able to run fast its best to get moulded?

the most important thing is to get light boots that are flexible, if you go to a shop test their flexibility by bending them at the point just above the middle of the foot, where the ball of your foot is. Moulded studs would help but once the weather gets wet then your gonna be sliding around like torville and dean. I personally recommend a website called Pro Direct Soccer. Last season I got the Kelme Milennia Pro Mix boots, which I found to be both light and durable. They are called mix cos you can put short rubber and larger studs in them. However the best boot for running I have ever had are the Mizuno Wave range, and you can get a pair of Wave Cup's reduced on Pro Direct Soccer for about 30 quid, they used to be 80 quid when i got them!

If you really wanna push the boat out I recommend either Puma King (but then you can get them on that website now for about 50 quid from 90) or Puma Cellerator if you can get your hands on them. do you need them for occasional use or are you going to play for a team?

your crap at football ryan, whats it matter? wear ya trainers :D

basically id recommend studs for soft grounds, as in when raining, moulded for 5-a-side pitches or if the pitch is hard, ie too much sun/frozen

Boots for grass...trainers for astroturf..simple as...black ones as well..got no time for noncy white/silver/gold boots....usually worn by vain, ronaldo wannabies who want to look good.Thierry Henry can get away with it playing at Old Trafford/Anfield/Nou Camp but not you on a cow field behind some pub.
Lets not forget you live in England...dry pitches are a rarity and you're probably not good enough for it to make a difference

Mouldeds for me- my weapon of choice are usually predators but I havent bought a pair for years now.

Does anyone remember Cica Blades- I bought a pair of them and quite honestly they were the best boots I've ever had!

Doesn't matter what boots you wear...you still pass out after 15 minutes running.

I expect a post where you pick up on my flaws, but stop telling others they are crap!

They are better (and designed) for astro turf surfaces.

but how and why are they better? Just better grip or something? What about the surface you kick with - iss that any better and if so, why?

They will certainly grip better on astro than flat soles.
And they wont make you "kick" any better, but they will certainly last longer than normal trainers if you play football in them.

Better grip and the end of the toes are usualy made stronger so you don't get an annoying bit of plastic from the sole flapping about after a couple of games.

Thats very true - my trainers that i was playing in, didnt last very long, hence the need for new shoes!

I've just bought some of the mizuno's from pro direct soccer as said above. They've been reduced from £80 to £19.99 worth having a look if you need some boots. For that price I've gone and paid the extra £20 and got my name and number on them.

What's the advantage of having a brightly coloured pair of boots with plastic blades. I think they look hoorrible and will always opt for a good old fashioned pair of black and white leather boots with studs.

well firstly they dont look horrible.

the reason i am picking to have the green ones are, A) because i like the look of them. B) they feel good to wear. C) lightest boots on the market. D) they have been formed to help you on a football pitch

They are the worst things i have ever seen!
Each to their own though. I am sure they are a good boot, but the colour would make you think you had no feet.....

HI,
I advice you to buy flexible shoes and test it before buying. The shoes with studs gives you more friction and make you not to fall down. These are a perfect choice in rainy reason and you can also buy shoes without studs to make a practice.
