Does anyone know where the hip hop/ rap scene is in sheffield where they hold battles or open mic nights? i haven't got the first idea whaer to go.

Classic Rock bar isn't what you'd call a traditional hip hop venue though, you might have more luck reading this thread:

Trippets had MC comps on Sundays - the night was called You Must Learn. Don't know if its still on or not tho... give them a bell.

As far as I know there is nothing on the hip hop battling scene going on in sheffield. Maybe it would be an idea to start one?

we've a freestyle rapper called mc poetry at the bedroom on west street tonite, wed 2nd june, and we hold an open mic nite every tuesday.

free entry both nites.

wooo cool. I never been in there dunno if the bouncers would let us riff raff in hehe.

The Classic Rock Bar does hold Open Mic Nights on Mondays and we get a wide variety of musicians playing anything from Country and Folk to progressive rock. We've had the odd hip hop person on the mic. Egos are left at home. Pop down and do us a tune!
