turra21 Â Â 10 #1 Posted June 13, 2006 My eldest daughter has decided she wants to learn to knit. She's 19 and an intelligent girl (takes after her mother!) I did a few squares in various patterns when I started but then cut my teeth on bigger things like sweaters etc, because "I'm an adventurer". What does anyone suggest I start her off on? She doesn't want a scarf she says but is unsure what she could do!
 Share this content via...
Guest   #2 Posted June 13, 2006 Socks! No, not really. Give it a few months first.  You'll need something without much shaping. How about a bag of some description, or a phone/iPod cover? Maybe a sleeveless top? There are some excellent patterns for beginners in the first Stitch n Bitch book.
 Share this content via...
Lucy-Lastic   10 #3 Posted June 13, 2006 What about a Booga bag knitted in Noro Kureyon. Im on a group where some people with limited experience made these - they are felted so that hides a lot of sins too:wink: I think the pattern is free btw so you shouldnt need to buy a kit:D  LisaH xxx
 Share this content via...
