Having enjoyed some wonderful sunshine over the past week (and more forecast), I am sure there is many a tan line/fried skin to be seen. The trick is - (other than sunbathe some more) - just how do we hold on to our much sought after tans? (Maybe I speak for the minority?)

As most of us have experienced - over exposure usually results in scaley skin and time spent pulling at large flakey patches - not to mention the health risks.

Other than bathe in olive oil, does anyone have any tips? - because I sure as hell wanna hang on to my mahogony glow for as long as possible......

You should have exfoliated your skin first. What you should do now is use lots and lots of moisturiser.

What you also want to do is make sure you wear loads of factor 30+ in the sun, and don't stay out in it too long. You'll end up looking like a piece of old leather and with an enhanced possibility of developing skin cancer.

Baby oil, bigflesh, a capful in your bath water should do the trick. If it's a shower you take then just smooth it on you while your skin is still damp.
Other than that there are moisturisers on the market now with just a hint of self tan in. Designed to build up and prolong a natural tan.
Just keep it well moisturised anyway...don't let it get dry. and top up in the sun when you can. I'm sure we have a while longer yet.:hihi:

I agree hecate, I agree... but I talk for the majority of sun loving criminals

Joanl gonna try a drop of baby oil in my shower tomorrow morning. May even pop a drop in my earl grey.

safest option:
factor 20 sun tan lotion when out and about.

exfoliate, moisturise and fake tan then you can have a tan all year round without worrying about the ageing and cancerous effects of too much sunbathing.

that said, you can still get a tan with factor 15- its just takes about a month of solid sunbathing!

I sincerely hope you have a suitable open neck sleeveless white shirt and a medallion the size of an ambulance wheel, Bigflesh?

The wet look curly permed mullet is optional these days btw
