mwoah, de eerste helft ging, maar de tweede helft was bagger....... robben deed goed z'n best, though..... Ik hoop toch ook altijd dat we winnen maar als ik ze zie spele zinkt de moed mij in den klompjes!

dat is het vervelende van nederland vind ik, ze zijn zo aanvallend (leuk om naar te kijken, beter dan die duitsers die na twee doelpunten de boel dichtgooien!) dat ze vergeten te verdedigen! Hadden we jaap stam nog maar....

Een finale tussen Oranje - Argentinie is onmogelijk? Misschien in the halve finale maar ik heb groote twijfelen? Ik blijf pessimistisch omdat ik goede ogen heb! Zij scoren niet genoeg goals. :(

I think the dutch deserved better from the ref ,Figo should have been sent off.He is a disgrace to football,his country & the WC.

I also wonder how many Dutch people live in Sheffield, and where about. Are there enough people to form a 'community' for perhaps "importing" stuff from Holland collectively (drop, erwtensoep, tijdschriften enz.)?

well, I don't know how many there are, but a few replied to the 'Emigrating to Sheffield' post in the Moving to/Living in Sheffield section and there was a thread here once about Dutch lessons as well..

Vorig september ging ik naar Dublin om de pak slaag van Ierland te zien.

Trouwens, ik heb afgelopen November op de internationale markt op de Fargate 2x250 gram dubbel zoute drop gekocht bij die kaasboer. Ik ben 2 weken geleden aan de tweede zak begonnen :) rantsoeneren.

Ze hadden ook stroopwafels, wafels en een hoop kaas.

Ze hadden zoet en zout gemixedte drop en ze zijn weer terug eind mei.

In Juni was er ook een nederlander die kroketten en frikandellen verkocht, hopelijk is die ook weer terug dan. Patatboeren in Engeland zijn maar nix :-)

Maargoed, we kunnen altijd kijken als er genoeg nederlanders zijn om die marktlui een boodschappen lijstje mee te geven in mei voor als ze weer terug komen in Juni (als ik me goed kan herinneren van vorig jaar)

en er was overigens ook een poffertjeskraam. Volgens mij liep die kroketten- en frikandellenkraam toen als een trein, of niet?
Mijn broer was in december langsgeweest met een kilozak drop, alleen had ie de helft al onderweg hierheen opgegeten omdat ie zo'n honger had...
Bij de Holland & Barret heb je trouwens van die panda drop.

Ik had 4 bevroren frikandellen gekocht en thuis in de oven gebakken.
6 pond was best wel een ranzig prijsje voor 4 stuks. Volgens mij koop je voor die prijs er ongeveer 60 van bij Bas v/d Heijden.

Tis maar 1 keer per jaar denk ik dan maar.

Oliebollen is ook iets wat ze niet echt snappen hierzow, ik mis ze wel met oud en nieuw. 1 keer geprobeerd ze zelf te bakken, was niet echt geslaagd...

en koopmans oliebollenmix kan je hier ook niet krijgen natuurlijk, maakt het er ook alleen maar lastiger op. ik heb ze weleens samen met m'n moeder gebakken maar in m'n eentje zal ik er wel een zooitje van maken vermoed ik zo.

ik kan trouwens op t moment het beeld van glacekoeken niet uit m'n hoofd krijgen. stom eigenlijk want in NL at ik die ook amper, maar als je iets niet **** krijgen, wordt het des te aantrekkelijker natuurlijk..

I agreed. PMs are good but I think it's better to keep it in English. Besides it might be interesting to learn about Dutch food and treats :cool:
I didn't know croquettes and 'frikandellen' were sold in Sheffield! What a missed chance :(
It was in Lidl where I saw kale (is: boerenkool) and chicory (is: witlof) for the first time. They were wonderful.
In the past I ordered a Dutch newspaper via the newsagent over here, that was great too. Now I follow the news on the internet.

Righto.. although personally I don't think the Dutch cuisine is much to be proud of ...;) (that is the main meal stuff, not the breads, biscuits and sweets)
I didn't know the word for witlof is chicory, learn something new everyday. I've never seen it in the supermarkets over here, but then I don't like it anyway..

I don't vote for Dutch elections, I dont think its fair to vote for a country you dont live in. I wish I could vote for general elections in Britain.

I do download "oudejaars conferences". Youp and "lebbis en jansen" are things I do not want to miss. I don't care about TV programs. Najib became famous after I moved to England my brother sent me a couple of shows and he is funny as hell :)

I took Billy Connolly as my replacement Youp v/h Hek :D Both of them kill me.

As the European football championships are coming up I thought we could get some Dutch people together to watch the games??? I even brought some orange stuff from Holland last week so we can show those English how to support your own country!
'Our' first game is on Monday the 9th of June. Of course people who don't like the footy are welcome as well.

Last match against them ended in disaster in de Kuip (euro 2000) or at least thats the last match I saw against Italy.

I will be in Holland on 26/6. If Holland gets to the semi's I can watch in Holland :-) (never gonna happen ofcourse)
