This was my favourite meal at school when I was about 6.
Does anyone have the recipe for traditional goulash?? I remember having it with rice and it being quite spicy. Also, does anyone know how to make manchester tart?? I've been sat here thinking of new things to cook as all of my family are great food lovers and I remembered quite a few meals from my school days that you just don't get anymore, cheese croquets being another favourite:D
What was your favourite or did you think school meals were rubbish in the 80's??

Just had a look in my books for goulash but couldn't find one. I know the key ingredient is Paprika which comes in many styles - although I doubt they would all be available over here.

You were lucky getting Goulash for school dinners .
I make it, its a beef stew with green peppers onion ,tomatoes ,garlic and paprika . Just before serving you swirl sour cream into it .
My primary school days were in the 50/60s ,I couldnt eat mashed potato or turnip for years afterwards it was horrible .
The sadistic teachers used to try make you eat it all as well , Iv been scarred for life !
