A friend of mine has just been telling me about an old couple he knows in their 70s who live in deepcar. The wife is disabled, in a wheelchair and cannot speak. They do not have a car so the husband pushes his wife everwhere in the chair despite his age. This couple have a caravan at chaple St leonards which they have had for many years.
Apparently they have a friend who lives nearby, An unemployed woman of large proportions who is going to take them to this caravan.
Unbelievably she is charging them £100 each plus £20 for diesel to take them and the same to bring them back.£440 in total.
I would like to know, Does this sound like a fair price or would people agree this lady is taking advantage of this old couple.

Definitely taking advantage

How can this woman sleep at night? I'd like to hitch her to the front of the caravan by her bra strap and make her personally pull the couple back in comfort....might even help her lose weight!

You are far too polite, the despicable grabbing cow is quite clearly robbing them and wants stopping. This could be seen as an attempt to defraud a vulnerable couple.

Perhaps her weekly Pie bill has come in from the bakers.

Gutted, I came on this thread thinking I would be getting some tips :( :hihi:

but seriously....

I dont think it can be seen as an attempt to defraud a vulnerable couple, because even though they are being taken for a ride, this ******* reserves the right to charge whatever they want to charge unfortunately, its up to the couple to say no.

This pi..e$ me off as a taxi driver I have to pay extortionate insurance premiums, high radio rent crazy money every 3 months to get my car licenesed by the council plus my yearly badge money and then people complain we are dear but thats because we have so many bills and if we manage to make a decent wage after paying out to keep our cars running plus fueling them then the tax man wants their share. So it peeves me off to hear of the many people who take extortionate payed fares without haven't all these outgoings:rant: All I will say is if you crash then your up ..it creek without a paddle as you won't recieve any compensation.

How much?!! I knew petrol prices were high, but that does seem like a tad bit excessive. Does this old couple have a family? If so, I would consider getting involved and letting them know of this scam. This can't be allowed to happen. Stop them before they get ripped off and if necessary report the fat waste of space to whoever is prepared to listen!!!
