What floats your boat in life?
My life is beautiful because of my wife and kids, sunny days, the laughter of small children, good friends and great memories

Bulldog you are a lucky man. That sounds terrific.

I agree with Bulldog. I feel it's not the temporary pleasures from the accumulation of material goods, but the sweeter, more lasting contentment of a pleasant living environment (family, true friends etc) that can't be bought at any price that make people genuinely happy.

What I love most about living in Sheffield is the fantastic scenery - you could be on the worst estate, yet only be a few minutes walk away from a park or a wood.

I'm fortunate enough to enjoy my work immensely too (just as well; I've been here all weekend  )

I love park benches, people who yodel, jumble sales and books about barges.

Most of all, though, I love my wife, my son and my hamster, Agent Pipsqueak.

We have a big family and I enjoy nothing better than a large family get together. With some being of Jamican decendency (my dads side) we end up having a great big feast, then we spend the rest of the night probably til the early hours of the morning just talking and having a sing song with music provided by my uncle and cousin on the guitar and mic'.

Also as Abdul says the great scenery we have in Sheffield. I live on the edge of the peak district boundry and love to go for many long walks on a nice summers day.

Life is wonderful when it is expressed in the most descriptive and evocative language in the world.

Ah...I was in the Peak District for a moment there.

I could live out there. I really could. Sheffield and Derby on the doorstep, and the greatest inland seaside resort in the world: Matlock Bath.

I love the walk on the prom with fish n chips on a warm evening.

Fab.

Comes from recognising the true values in life, health, good food, fresh air, countryside, companionship, a nice home and garden, DIY, being gratefull for what we have, instead of grumbling about what we haven't got.

Realising how lucky we are, compared to millions of underpriveliged people in the world, who haven't enough food to eat.

That's nice if you have all those, I don't quite understand how DIY got in that list?

On a nice sunny day, not too hot - pottering round in the garden while listening to Radio 4.

Probably cos it's Bank Holiday... Everybody does DIY on Bank Holidays for some reason.

DIY? The only DIY I've done today is opening cans of Stella. I need to be suitably oiled to influence my writing output.

Back to normal tomorrow. Actually, I love working: you appreciate your free time all the more.
