Hello all: I am conducting an experiment concerned with the posting of messages on forums. Where do we all sit when we post our magnificent messages, ecological eyewash, blatant buffoonery etc and so on?

My PC is situated in the East wing (diningroom/office) and I have a nice big desk with pigeon holes and a raised stand for the monitor. I like to stick yellow post-it stickers all over the place with lots of meaningless scribble on them just to impress visitors.

I sit on a fairly standard swivel air-damped office-chair and I keep my chilled Stella Artois handy on a nice little coaster that I made by sticking some rubber bits onto the bottom of a ceramic tile.
What do you do?

I need the results in by 10: 00pm tomorrow night.

I sit at the PC facing South, i usually have a beverage to the right of me (Coke mainly, but often a alcohol based one like a leffe or a hoegaarden) this sits upon one of two beer mats, one being a Schneider Weiss (its the champagne of beers you know!) and the other being for a beer called "KWAK" (the name amused me, as did the wooden frame the beer came in).

My chair is uncomfortable, which is surprising as I spend the majority of my life sat on it!

Strangely enough I sit in the east wing also, as this is where our dining room is situated, occasionally I will use the other computer in the estate office( First lawn, Top shed).
From there I can peruse the horticultural centre of excellence(greenhouse) that exists within the boundaries of the property.
The Dining room experience is what I'm doing at the moment sat with my back towards the magnificent eight seater family dining table(total waste of space). The french doors lay beyond that and as I turn my head and look through them I notice dusk is setting beyond the tall trees.

Well I'm sat in my bedroom!! Nice old wooden desk snuggled into the alcove, printer/scanner to the right, monitor and keyboard to the left. A Simpsons promotional cardboard thingie sits on top of the monitor and a sparkling array of feather boas and wigs hang from the frame of an old standard lamp to the left of the desk. My bottom is placed on a old pastic chair that I rescued from a skip about 16 years ago, painted black and covered with two funky purple cushions!!

Will that do ya?!! :loopy:

I sit in what was supposed to be a home office but is actually now a playroom - junk room. I have my computer and its bits but we have to share our space with the Power Rangers, Action Man and the gerbils.

Usually, either my Dad's bedroom (rather red with lots of mess), or the downstairs 'cellar' room (got proper water, lighting, carpet plastering, etc, but no central heating, so it gets really cold!!!)

Now I have my drink to the left of me. Is there a correlation between the position of drinks and political leanings? Mine is just to the left of me after all...

That's quite possible. I don't usually have a drink with me, but if I do it's on the floor at my feet, either to the left or to the right.

I sit in the IT suite at Sorby Halls of Residence (Shef Uni). There are precisely 50 PCs here for use, and it's open 24 hours a day but the heating isn't usually switched on overnight (I'm usually on here for about 90 minutes or so). Each desk has a keyboard, a monitor, a mouse with mousepad, and some space. That's it. Oh, and we've got comfortable easily-adjustable swively chairs.

Always the usual place, in my bedroom at a computer desk surrounded by shelves (IKEA) of videos/dvds, an open wardrobe (IKEA), my TV to the left of me which is sat on my chest of drawers (IKEA) and behind me is my bed. It's a bit of a pokey room as I'm inbetween flats while I'm training on this gas-fitting course so I've had to cram all the furniture that was in my much larger room into the room I grew up in.....not an easy task! Also difficult to keep tidy and it's due for it's monthly blitz. I may get around to it this weekend.

I am sat in my study next to my bedroom upstairs, and my monitor is facing nor, nor, east, My coffee table is to my left as I am left orientated and my bureau is also on my left full of computer related junk.

In front of me and above is where I keep my envelopes and photographic paper, along with my floppy disks and C.D. Roms, My Telephone is on my right hand side as this is my good ear, then the scanner, on a set of drawers with phone accessories and computer paper, lamp with green shade, typwriter, television, and old diaries on a red topped formica table, guillotine, shredder and two very comfortable computer swivel chairs (one for a guest.

Fourteen spring lever files on a shelf that I fitted, large foxhunt painting, dozens of photos on the walls, five wall clocks, and lots of artificial flowers.

What a load of old rubbish.

It's not rubbish. It sounds extremely organised to me.

No, because my drink is to the far right of me, and my political compass says im almost dead centre with slightly left leanings :P and that'd be uncomfortable. There is a reason why however, because my keyboard is on the left side of the desk due to it being where the hole is under the table for the chair ;)

Im sat in our spare bedroom/study! Not sure which way im facing...north, south etc, havent a clue!!

The desk was made by my dad and goes all the way round 3 walls of the bedroom, stores the pc, which is the right hand corner of it, (i am facin the window) with the scanner, printer etc to the right of me on the storage shelves etc There are shelves on the wall to the right of me, full of storage boxes for letters, envelopes, disks, photos etc.

To the right theres also a book shelf for all my mums thrillers (jeffrey deaver, patricia cornwell etc)...and then there's various pictures on the wall of our house in florida, me as a kid :S

Behind me, to the left, is the door, then to the right is an inbuilt cupboard which stores all my old videos, the dyson, my old cd player, my dads tool box, basically crap and things we dont use that often (obv not countin the dyson!).

If i have a drink, its to the left of me on the desk, not on a coaster, the whole desk is one haha, which is where anything i might be eating at the time also sits, and im sat on a huge leather swivelly chair...very comfortable!! :)

I'm sat in the dubious 'luxury' of my room in Halifax Hall Halls of Residence at Sheff Uni! I have a big desk with a big old PC with the monitor at a weird angle because the sun always shines in through the window and means I can't see what on earth's going on!

I have a desk lamp and an ash tray which was 'liberated' from a pub back home in Stockport the other week! (full of keys and stuff - I don't smoke!) in front of me and a phone to the left... my coffee's in front of me and I have piles of revision stacked up on my right (grr!) I also have my bed behind me.

My chair is a big black sturdy thing - none of your gas lift luxury here! It's got me to thinking who else must have sat at this desk before me in the years that these Halls have sat here and tried to avoid doing revision by posting messages on the Sheffield Forum!:P

I'm on the bottom floor of my Halls which is good because I can see all the goings off in the bar and who's going to lunch, but bad because I don't have a nice view over Sheffield like the guys above me do!

I'm sure that you feel much better for knowing all that!:)

Old joke I know. :)
I sit in my kitchen facing west, opposite the fridge. Which I guess is why I've put on a couple pounds recently!!
To my left there are four kitchen windows that usually have a nice view of a plum tree, Park Hill, a car park and some little punks who are breaking down said tree and are from said flats. :(

To my right there is some New England type decking that's been stuck on the wall. It's green by the way. Green and cream. Yukky.

Behind me a nice selection of panties and my dad's huge shorts are toasting nicely on the radiator. Err ... the front door is there too.

My chair is horrible!! It's a bright blue, plastic, crappy thingy which gives me butt and back ache! I think it is from Argos.

Wow! After all that information I bet you guys are hungry. I know I am.
