Of course I know it is possible as people do it, but I was just thinking about my finances and I thought to myself that if I was ever on JSA alone which is 40-50 quid a week or something I think, then I would be up doo doo creek without a paddle.
What kind of life do people on JSA have? Is there perhaps anyone on here on JSA who can tell me how they cope with living on it?
I've been on the Jobseeker's and believe me mate it's hell/// Made worse by useless jobsworths at the sodding job centres... In fact I'll rephrase that, to call them jobsworths would suggest they did their job TOO well, in my case they didn't do their jobs well ENOUGH!
That's all I'll say on the subject, as discussion of the events surrounding my time on the Dole winds me up, and I'm in a good mood for once at the moment and don't want to spoil it.

Not much tbh. Its different for everyone but I was on it for a few months and it made me quite depressed, not just the small amount to live on but the actual principal of it. Going to the jobcentre every other thursday was no fun and they kept trying to get me jobs that had no relevance to me whatsoever, mostly part time shop jobs that paid very little. I'm not knocking shopwork, a lot of people I know enjoy it but I've done it before and I didnt like it so asked specifically for them not to look for that type of work for me.
I eventually took myself of it because it I couldn't deal with it much longer.
We were on it once and it was horrible! Imagine having to scrape together copper at the end of the week, cos thats how bad it was. Also the staff at the jobcentre (may have changed now) were completely patronising and spoke to people like they were thick.
No its not nice, its degrading.

I'm on job seekers now £190 a fortnight down from £1,600 a month and a cash payment of around 3 times my annual wage tax free when im 40. Big sacrifice but im thinking well ahead of the game.

It has been said its degrading but you live on it because you have to - ive been on it in the past and its a massive restructuring of your life, but if definately teaches you how to budget
You are not supposed to like living on JSA, it is designed to make you GET OFF YOUR IDLE ARSE and support yourself.

Probably the difference between (National Insurance) Contributions-based JSA, which is higher than income-based JSA. Looks like jpbcouriers has been earning easily enough to qualify for contributions-based.
