There is a lot of moaning - but maybe it's justified.

Very much what people make of it.

There is an element of curtain twitching, but there's also the debate on wider issues of varying degrees of seriousness and silliness.

What people post determines the flavour of the Forum on any day.

today it seems to be a helluva lot of curtain twitching. I suppose you're right joe, the forum does flip from very serious days to very self righteous days to very slow days. I suppose I'm just curious to find out what the majority of discussion could be classed as.
Perhaps one of the oft-posting students could do a study on it!

I think that's one of the good things about SF - you never know what's going to crop up next!

There are only 2 types of poster(s) on here who annoy the hell out of me, one is these daft people who can't enter into debates without getting all silly and offensive to people who happen to disagree with their viewpoint, the other, obviously are the trolls, whether intentionally or meant in fun, when will these people learn that what's funny to them may be particularly offensive to other people, such as me... C word anyone for instance?

I don't have any curtains - we had to send them back because they made the room too dark, we were using loads of electric - not very environmentally friendly despite the label that announced they were made from organically grown cotton.... Cah!

Has the meaning of the term curtain-twitcher changed since I were a lad ?

It used to mean nosy-parkers who wanted to see what their neigbours were up to without being seen to be doing so. First-floor bay windows were best. ;)

Nothing to do with being argumentative, insulting, rude or flippant.

i didn't suggest this - but a lot of posts on here are along the lines of "ooh police, what's he done wrong?" etc

Yes: ham-fisted moderation. BOW DOWN BEFORE THE MODS!! No, fair play - someone took a joke about curtains the wrong way and got in a flap or something...

That's almost trolling in itself, Rich! If you stopped mentioning it, people would stop bothering about it.
