So, this is how Royal Mail have managed to move back into the black is it and help to accumulate their £220m annual profit? :o :D

I guess some dodgy characters will always slip through the net.

I know of someone who was a postman (for a short time) who used to steal credit cards when he found them in the mail and I remember my mother also had a similar experience. Theft is one thing that utterly infuriates me.

Can't blame Royal Mail for this though. It's the dodgy employee, not the company and no company interviewer is perfect. :(

Don't worry Pauly. I wasn't actually blaming Royal Mail, it was just a light hearted joke. ;)

As an ex postie i know that 99.9% of post men are honest people, but your always going to get a few who abuse the system.
It was probably some bloke on his last day in the job. I hope they find idiot and give him what he deserves.

Agreed, my Dad had his credit card intercepted in the post, and had been used in shops on Oxford Street, London until the card had exceed the transaction limit and the fraudsters were asked security questions. I blame the banks for the lack of security, why or why send activated cards through the post... surely the cards should be sent unactivated, i know some cards are dispatched in this way but not all.

By the way, the Sheffield "S" postcode came 3rd highest in the country in terms of service by the Royal Mail. If our service is the 3rd best, I dread to think what the others must be like.

All's well for the couple in the news item though - I notice that they got sent a bunch of flowers, so everything's now alright. Aww.

If this happened in the last fortnight, could be possible that some Year 10 student on work experience got at the letter somewhere in the system.

Nah this was years ago. The guy has probably had many other jobs since then.

With respect that is wrong. A postman shouldn't take it upon himself not to deliver a certain party's literature just because he doesn't agree with their policies. It is up to voters to decide who to vote for. I personally am not a BNP supporter but I don't think postmen should take it upon themselves to decide what mail their customers should and should not receive.
