Can anyone please recommend a pub or restaurant that combines both good fresh food and a childrens play area.I have visited branded pubs like Brewsters but have always been disappointed by the food. Why do these companies think that just because we have children we are going to be satisfied with second rate frozen / reheated / microwaved food. Any suggestions ?

I think you might struggle. we've been "with child" for 7 years and we've yet to find a halfway decent pub that welcomes children and serves good quality food. If you do find anywhere pm me!!!!!

You tried the Holly Bush in Rivelin?! We used to go there when I were a lad, and the food is great, and they have a well protected play area with a couple of swings and a slide for the kiddies.

Their phone number ls 0114 234 5457.

try the Chequers Inn, Eckington Road, Coal Aston (Just beyond jordanthorpe)

it's got a whacky warehouse on site for teh kids, and really decent food.

oh, yes, and they have an all-day 2 for 1 offer on the main courses...

Well if it's a sunny day, then head out to the three merry lads - lodge moor - A57 out of sheffield, and turn left in Crosspool then carry on and you'll get there eventually.

They have a small playgorund outside - climbing frames slide, goalposts etc....

They have tables etc outside, and are very child friendly.

I'd advise getting there early as it does get bizzy!
