My mum wants to join a ladies hockey club in Sheffield. She's in her 50s and looking to regain her former fitness ... oh, and she used to play for England and coach hockey years and years ago.
Can anyone help?

...I just found out it was volleyball she used to coach, not hockey - she only played hockey ...didn't want to be accused of telling porkies!
Does anyone know any hockey clubs?? :)
I'm looking too as I don't want to play for my uni team as they all drink too much! lol
I've heard theres a good team who play at Abbeydale Road but thats too fair for me to travel really, I'm a goalkeeper who doesn't drive so lugging my kit across town on a bus is a nightmate!
Are there any in Rotherham or north sheffield?

I reccommend the hockey club who play at abbeydale. I no the club really well and the hockey club have training nights throughout the week. They do have a good socials as well which always helps. If you go up on a saturday the hockey club starts playing at about 10am. If you don't drive you need the 97 or 97a bus and both buses stop outside almost. good luck.

Hello there,
As part of my remit with the South Yorkshire Sport Partnership, I am presently working as the South Yorkshire Hockey Development Officer and therefore can help with introducing you to the number of great hockey clubs in the area.
Please call me on 0114 2235680 for more information.
Many thanks,
James.
