Is anyone else in Stannington area having trouble with their Freeview? We can't seem to get a good signal on any of the cnannels at all :rant:

Is this recent problem after previously having a good signal or have you just gone digital for the first time and have found the reception poor?

It's an ongoing problem, we're now on our second Freeview box since upgrading to digital last year... We also have Sky and Sky Plus but Mum wants Freeview with hard drive so she can tape her stuff, she doesn't know how to use Sky Plus.

Anyways, we haven't had any problems. I live at the top end of Stannington, im not a Stannington wannabe ;) just thought id state where abouts so you had an idea. :)

I live in the REAL Stannington beyond the Sportsman as well... Thing is though, we had a bloke come yesterday to have a look at our arial, and now there is no signal AT ALL on ANY Freeview channels... WTF?! Methinks we won't be using that arial place opposite Morrisson's again.

If it worked ok before, sometimes a simple reset, ie turening it on and off at the power will restart it, as with all digi boxes they are essentially just circuit boards and occasional need a reboot.. Good luck.

Yes Rich I'm having trouble with terrestrial telly. Every night from seven onwards the whole screen is filled with something that can only be described as resembling pig manure. It can last until nine on a bad night.

I'd tend to agree mate, the whole "Upper Malin Bridge" versus "Real Stannington" crap is lame and silly IMO.
