had the pleasure this morning of finding my brand new car keyed from one end to the other. i live in crookes and have to say that on the whole it's a good area to live.WHY does someone do that to someones property? I'm seriously suspicious that it wasnt "kids" either. it's a fairly flash car which has taken all my working life to get to and i hate to say it but i think some scrote has done it through spite.
please help as i have lost faith in mankind!

some people do it because they are scum and they are jealous of your success.
I can't think of any other reason it would happen.

i think you might be right there cyclone. the trouble is, do i go ahead and have it repaired so the pr*#k can do it again or just leave it.
I take it you can't get any off road parking. Maybe you could set up cctv to point at the car... Doesn't stop them, but gives a small chance of catching them.
I um'd and ar'd over buying a new car precisely for this reason, but I am lucky enough to have a drive, so i've fitted an alarm and started locking the gates.
Personally i'd have it repaired, you want the car to look nice for you, and it may be a one off that won't ever happen again.

I had my car keyed last weekend all the way down one side, as did at least one other person on my street. This is on a quiet cul de sac in Ecclesall, also "a nice place to live". My car is nothing flashy at all though - can't imagine what anyone has gained from this.
saw some very dodgy characters in crookes the other night - they made damn sure I couldn't see their faces as I drove by, then when I parked 100yds down the road the were walking down, they turned round and went the other way.
Admittedly, to give them the benefit of the doubt, they could've been cold and lost, but it still made me double check my car. Sorry about the scratch, my boss had exactly the same in Crookes. It's gutting.
