am I the only one (I probably am) who gets sick of so much airtime being devoted to so called good looking famous men who are supposedly irrisistable to women.

What a load of rubbish. Have the TV companies really got nothing better to fill the airwaves with than this load of old tosh. How amny viewers do they think really want to watcxh programmes (soaps and the like) which are full of nothing but men having girlfriends and endless storylines about bloody teenage love or whatever.

have they reallty got no imagianation. In the name of Mike, William Shakespeare did this with bloody Romeo and Juliet over 400 years ago. It has been done. How many varuiations on this theme do we really need. If people really want this sort of drivval let them go and read Barbara Cartland or whatever. Night after bloody night they show the same old crap. I'd rather watch the bloody test card than this sort of bilge.

So TV programme makers, come up with something origional and leave off the bloody romance. no-one cares about it. it is dull, it is depressing and it is crap.

No-one forces you to watch it Slim. I don't watch tv if there isn't anything I want to watch being shown. I have to agree with Craig, the specific target of your complaint (these apparently 'good looking men with their girlfriends', grrrr!!! ;)) makes you sound a tad bitter I'm afraid! :D

Erm millions of viewers obviously do, or they wouldnt tune in every night.Change the channel if you dont want to see it.

You watch the test card then, or get sky/telewest and watch one of the other hundreds of channels on offer!

As a good looking (not yet famous) man who's irresistable to women the only problem I can see is that I've not made it onto the telly yet, (although I once stood on it to put the Christmas dec up). Telly just mirrors real life and I often think that TV producers are spying on my hedonistic lifestyle when they plan their programmes. I can't understand why some people get upset, my only problem is that there are so many gorgeous women and so little time. I'm considering Cloning myself so that twice as many women can be happy.
Slimsid, chill out man, accept that there are some people with a normal love life, there are some in the soaps who seem to have an inordinate amount of success in relation to their looks, and then there's me. It's life mate, don't get the old pulse rate into overtime about something you can't change.
By the way I'm not really typing this, I've got Halle Berry doing it for me.

Slim, I wonder what you would rather see programmes about? Maybe a documentary about a bloke who is completely 'resistable' to women.

Just a thought, but you don't think you might bring this lack of attractiveness upon yourself by any chance?:|

Bitter? Yes of course I am. So what? Bitterness is a part of my character, but only a part of it.

I don't watch these programmes in fact I studiously avoid them and will go out walking rather than sit at home and watch soaps etc. The problem is that so much airtime is devoted to them and that such things can crop up in the most unexpected places. For example Chris Tarrent on 'Millionaire' recently spent ages talking to some ponce about his fianancee as though anyone except him actually cares. When you watch a quiz show you expect to see people answering questions not talking about their private lives.

Boroughgirl, I am rather concerned that you say you know who i am. I suspect you don't really but have just guessed but i would be rather perturbed if you did know me as I don't know you (do I?).

steve_sufc

I think you should get some help Sid, if someone just talking about their fiancee makes you get angry I reckon you're going to end up on a killing spree.

SupraSteve

BG said she had found out who you are, she didn't say she knew you :)
Tarrant always makes chi-chat with the contestants, its to make the programme more 'interesting' (I don't watch that either), and more inportantly from the programme makers PoV - to save them cash!! the more time wasted on jabbering on the less time there is spent on people earning, and ultimately being paid, prize money! :)

slim hiya hope ur ok luv.

this is silly though... the fact that soaps/ tv programmes have relationships on them is normal- its cos everyone (well most ppl) find that sort of thing interesting and can relate to it themselfs.... like if sum1 one corrie was going thru a break up and u were at them same time u wud want to watch it cos it might make u feel better!! know what mean?? im sure the script writers have got it right cos otherwise what would they write about?? what they had for tea? i thought u might understand where im coming from cos ur into drama :)

Yes Diamond I understand what you say and perhaps this is true for some people. Personally I like a bit of escapism from telly which is why i tend to watch a lot of politics and documentries. Even then, there are some subjexts that are too close to home as it were for me to feel comfortable watching but mostly these shows are OK for me.

I just find it depressing seeing other men with girls and feel it better if i avaoid such programmes.

BTW, it wasn't you who told Boroughgirl who i am was it?

Sid would you accept a part in a love story if a) you were the leading man or b) if you were a character that didn't get any?

If b) would you hate everyone on the cast for acting in the play even though it's not real?
