There is a critical shortage of ALL trades at the moment to the point where people are having to design buildings with as few trades as possible, and dry trades wherever possible.

Frankly, just turn up!

Really? Didn't know that Tony.
Was thinking of doing a part time trade course this september too.

Plumbing is a no no, with over 300 applicants for a course holidng just 30. Seem to be the same everywhere.

Maybe opt for something else.... Electrician perhaps :)

Dry walling and exterior cladding are pretty easy to learn, (from what i've been told, done some cladding before and its easy.) And seem to be paying decent rates too. ( £10-£16 per hour, again this is only from what i've heard.)

Im a joiner , done 3 years and im nowhere near good enough/have the knowlege to do all aspecs of the job ,theyres just so much to cover!
Thats why id say Brick laying , easy to pick up all you have to do is speed up.If you dont do a college course ,then you can become a labourer and learn it from theyre thats how a fair few pick up the trade then take on site tests
