Anyone else out there had problems with Direct Kitchens ? (They have a showroom in Holme Lane and their head office in Chapeltown).
Had a kitchen fitted by them in 2004.A couple of weeks ago I hear a "boooomf"...."booomf" sound coming from under the sink.Turns out that a cable they damaged when they fitted it they simply put a bit of tape around instead of replacing the cable. Noise was an electrical short.House could have burnt down!
Direct Kitchens have at least agreed to reimburse me for the cost of the electrician hired to sort out their mess ( he was appalled by their standard of work) as " a gesture of goodwill" for this, but when I reported recently that a mixer tap they fitted was malfunctioning they washed their hands of the problem saying that as an "appliance" it was not covered in their ten year warranty and was only covered for twelve months.
Since when was a tap an "appliance"? I thought that term applied to washing machines etc.
I would'nt touch them with a barge pole again. Just interested if anyone else has had a bad experience.
