everybody must have some good news to share?? be it work, family, a wedding, anything atall!

It's a couple of weeks ago now, but I'm still finding it amazing to shout...'I've got a job!!' :)

i know the feeling, im the same. i started working for Virgin vie a couple months ago and its the best job in the world. its awful not having a job. well done :thumbsup:

I'm kinda scared, all I've done is study and now I enter the big wide world. At least my degree course was training me for my job, so I feel a little more prepared :) I don't start until September so still get a nice long summer off. Woo!

Myself (and the rest of Oughtibridge Brass Band) were hired by the Tudor Players amateur dramatics society to be part of their play "Brassed Off", which showed for five nights (six performances) throughout last week at the Library Theatre (next to the Crucible and the Lyceum). It was a tiring but great experience.

Nearly three weeks ago now (it was a Thursday, so it must have been the 6th) I met a girl called Emma through the band whilst preparing for the theatre production I've just described. She's a year older than me, but unlike me she's not a Uni student - she's lived in Sheffield for nearly three years now having originally come from Pembrokeshire. We immediately clicked with each other, and the following Tuesday (immediately after we'd finished the first night of the show) I just went for it and kissed her in the dressing room. It worked, and we've been together for almost two weeks now, enjoying every minute of it.

I got a letter from Belgium last week saying that I've been given a scholarship to study Dutch language and culture in the University of Gent for three weeks in August. The Belgian government is paying for my course, accommodation, and any planned activities. I'll only have to pay living expenses (food etc.) and the cost of getting there and back. I've studied seven months of Dutch so far at Uni. I'm one of sixty students on the course, who are from 28 different countries over the world (mainly from Eastern and Western Europe) - only four of us will be arriving from English-speaking countries, so it should be interesting...

I won a tenner on t'lottery about a fortnight back.

I got married 2 weeks ago (7th may), and won 2 quid on a scratch card last week. And found out that the company I work for has now found new premises, after being told by the council that the building were in now is going to be demolished to make way for the new markets.

I cleaned my kitchen and it looks ace...

Ive just been asked to be a partner in my bosses business and I've just won a case against the council by challenging the big man, yey

i found it really hard to think of anything 'great' that's happened recently :( but there again nothing particularly bad has happened - or maybe dropping my phone down the loo when i was drunk was not too clever particularly in light of the fact that it's buggered now and doesn't work

Well i recently got my dream job at a school i have really wanted to work at since i first started training!:clap:

OK, ok, so it's only as a dinner lady at my son's school but it's a foot in the door for me. I used to work as a play worker doing holiday playschemes and want to get into doing classroom assistant/mentoring work within schools. It's definately a step in the right direction and after having not worked for the last 2 years it's been hard getting back into work. Having 2 kids and a partner that works most evenings and every weekend, I can't be at all flexible so this is great for me!!

My good news is that I've joined the gym!!! Been working really hard to look fabulous in the gorgeous pink gingham bikini my boyfriend has bought me for when we go to Spain!! I've got to show him that it was money well spent, and you never know he might just buy me another!!! :D

Best thing that's happened to me... hmmm. I haven't got lost anywhere recently. Thats prolly it. Everythins always the same for me.

I just got halfway through my 6mth probation at my new job.So far i've scored excellent in everything and got a glowing report from my boss.Only 3 mths to go then they have to think of a good reason to fire me!:bigsmile:

I took Voluntary Redundancy from Royal Mail, and I'm using the money to go traveling for 2 1/2 years :D

Having never even been abroad before, this is pretty much a dream come true for me :)
