what is thurscroft like, its just out of sheffield is it ok for familys?

My mum & dad live there. Thurcroft is an old mining village. Lots of families there. Lots of of council owned and ex council type properties properties. Village hasn't expanded much in past years although there are some nice new small housing estates - good value for money because of the location. Depends what your looking for.
