Last year Wednesday went up, this year the Blades and Barnsley - next year it ought to be Doncaster Rovers - new stadium and all. South Yorkshire football is on a roll. Well done Barnsley, anyone opening a book on when Darren Gough gets sober???? sufc_tom 27-05-2006, 17:29 Massive congratulations to the Tykes - a proper cup final with loads of commitment. Tell you what it is tiring just watching them play! Must also say the penalties taken from Barnsley were of Premiership quality in particular the 1st one. taxman 27-05-2006, 18:35 Went to Barnsley and watched the game in a packed pub - terrific atmosphere - place went mad when we won. Swansea were the better team - but ****** to them. I'm also glad Colgans error for the second Swansea goal won't stay with him. Will need a bit of a clearout to survive in the Championship though!! Yooouuuuuu Redzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!! Ally68 27-05-2006, 19:45 Well Done to Barnsley!. Nice to see Trundle will be chewing on his words now :hihi: :hihi: SHOULD'VE GONE TO WEDNESDAY HA HA! sufc_tom 27-05-2006, 20:05 Well Done to Barnsley!. Nice to see Trundle will be chewing on his words now :hihi: :hihi: SHOULD'VE GONE TO WEDNESDAY HA HA! Too be fair having been to two play off final defeats, and would never rub salt in an open wound (Even Leeds last week). Its one of the worst ways to go out but also the greatest way to go up! Good luck Swans next year. Teabag 27-05-2006, 20:17  Well done to Barnsley Ally68 27-05-2006, 20:23 Too be fair having been to two play off final defeats, and would never rub salt in an open wound (Even Leeds last week). Its one of the worst ways to go out but also the greatest way to go up! Good luck Swans next year. Well to be fair he has shown loyalty (albeit blind) to his chosen club. But his comments before the game are deserving of a bit of ribbing. Barnsley weren't the better side on the day but that's football for you. Shazbat 27-05-2006, 21:08 Well done Barnsley  Only heard a bit of it but kept checking the score online. Go Yorkshire! scarby 27-05-2006, 21:42 Ah well, the lads at work will be happy now. Til wednesday lick em!! :hihi: Nice one tykes! CHAIRBOY 28-05-2006, 07:15 More money in the Owls' coffers and neither Trundle nor Knight will be on league duty at Hillsborough with Swansea next season! tosh13 28-05-2006, 08:01 Congratulations to the Breadcake's. I said they would win glad the goalkeepers error didn't cost the tyke's at the end. English Glory 28-05-2006, 14:24 Yep, well done to Barnsley. It was looking like it was going to be a washout for the rise and rise of Yorkshire clubs (apart from Sheff U) this year, what with Leeds and Halifax losing their play-off finals. At times yesterday it looked like going to the Taffs as well but great Yorkshire grit shone through. Hope the Barn fans had a safe trip home as well what with it being in Wales and the Swansea fans liking for a punch-up. Suppose local Cardiff City fans will have been after the Swans anyway if there was any trouble. Hope Grimsby make it through today to replace a local side with a localish one in League One - even if they do stink of fish. |
