This weather in England, is it a curse or a blessing? In winter I go numb and I am frozen daft, in summer when it is really hot I sweat profusely, with the bright sunlight making me squint.

Also, I have to cover up to avoid getting burnt and usually finish up with a bad headache. Some days the weather starts out lovely, then develops cloudy overcast conditions and a cold wind starts to blow.

Other days, the weather starts with cold and rain then changes halfway through the day to Sunshine and blue sky. One does not know what to do for the best, do I go out prepared for cold and damp? or do I prepare for sunshine and heat? Can someone please advise me on what to do for the best? or do I just stay in and confound my critics??? :? :? :?

I think I would just stay in. I suffer from burning very easily too because of vitiligo (http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitiligo) and stay out of the sun as much as possible. I would also suggest getting some metal blinds for one of your rooms, we keep ours shut in the bedroom all day when its hot with the window open and ti keeps the bedroom very cool compared to the rest of the house allowing us an oasis should it get too hot.

I love the english whether, though I don't really go out and see it much. It's good to have a variety. Whenever I go on holiday to somewhere really hot, I'm always glad to get back home. The sun often gives me a headache.

Hi Richard,
The trouble is I hate staying in particularly in the summer, loving the outdoors as I do, it would be murder for me as I like plenty of space and air. I also enjoy moving around and going from place to place, I would get very bored staying home all the time as I am the traveller of the zodiac, and we all know whom we are talking about don't we?

i HATE the weather when its as hot as it was today (saturday). i can't move without breaking into a sweat and it gives me a headache and a very irritable mood. also, it makes sleeping nearly impossible as its too hot in bed and the sheets stick to me. :x

You miserable sod! Its not hot in england at all compared to proper hot places near the equator. We're just right, we get nice cold days when you can wear nice coats, jumpers and furr, and then we get nice sunny days where you can wear skirts/shorts and sunbathe. Weve got the best of both worlds so you cant complain really. The only problem is too many inbetween days where it cant make its mind up - specially in summer/spring cos you never know whether to wear a jacket or not. We should think ourselves lucky though, we dont get any extremes such as droughts, monsoons, bad hurricanes, tsunamis, 2m thick snow. All we get really are smallish floods and theyre not THAT bad.

You would have thought with a name like that you would prefer warmer weather so as not to freeze your bits off!!!

I love the summer. I hate the winter. I don't like being trussed up with sixteen layers of clothes or the rain beating in my face when I have to get to various places with the kids.
I guess if I had a car it may be different, or if I didn't have the kids all the time I would probably have the time to enjoy the winter a bit more. My concern for them NOT getting pnuemonia gets in the way I guess.

I am a summer bunny really, canne have too much hot weather for me. If it get's to me I take shelter inside with a cuppa tea.

Try not to let it get you down, there are good points na dbad points to all seasons, why not enjoy what they bring not the discomforts.
