I've always had a problem with the last stitch of the cast off edge being a little loose. It seems to affect the row below, such that the edge of the fabric appears to have a little hillock in it.

The presenter demonstrates how to work the last stitch of the row below the cast off row together with the final cast off stitch. It really does seem to make a difference to the looseness of that final stitch.
