Well i installed my first software disc in the tower...it ran ok, now where do i find it, i thought it would go into the desktop so i could just click onto it, it's not there!

most software when installing asks you if you want a desktop icon ie a shortcut to your program but if not just go to start then programs find your software name then click on it to run

Didn't go into start either, ran fine , nothing came up on the sceen to ask if i wanted it in desktop ect ! should i run it with just the desk top on the screen?

But where on the screen would it ask you ? i've run it again with just the desk top on but nothing came up?

It will b in C Program files ....just open the folder and copy a shortcut to desktop

Thank you Savannah, sorry but whats a C program? i went to start the ALL PROGRAMS don't see anything new i there, it's a Better Homes and Garden disc but nothing even close shows up.

Right click My Computer>Open right click C Drive>Open you will see a folder called Program Files right click and open....the program you installed should in in there.

: I clicked on MY Computer, a list can on open,explore search manage, map so on snd so on but nothing about C, then i clicked on the OPEN files came up said FILES STORED ON THIS PC didn't see anyhting like what i put in...sorry Savannah.... don't bother i'll give it a try tomorrow, i'm a bit:loopy: your know what with computers.

Have a look in control panel, add/remove programs.
If it's there, remove it, and try re-installing.
Could have been a slight error, like another program running at the same time as you installed or summat.

Did you actually go through an install process or did you just insert the disk and use it?

Just a thank you all for all your help..........a friend did it for me, seems i was putting it in the top tower slot instead of the bottom, didn't even know it had two places...could have swore i heard it running where i put it....guess not:loopy:
