Ok guys and gals, I have got loads of spyware taking over my PC, can you tell me how to get rid of it, and anytips for avoiding it in the future.

I am running XP Home
Zonelabs Firewall


I reckon the kids have accepted an alert from the firewall and its downloaded itself.

I have also got something (messagebroadcaster?)that is undelining words on web pages in green.

Any tips greatfully received.:loopy:

Use Ad-aware, and Spybot serach and destroy to clean it up. Make sure you download the updates after installing.

Then use Spyware Blaster to stop the critters getting through in the first place.

also worth downloading and running antitrojan 5.5 or A2 as it's now known...

Are these free?

Why do I need the updates, if I download one, won't it be updated?

No the downloads won't be updated, as new updates are out every couple of days for adware.

spysweeper has a free version and is highly effective- you can never have too many programs protecting you lol
