With talks from local Trouble TV presenter Jonny P and acclaimed UK Garage producer Oris Jay, the day is an opportunity to find out more and get involved. Between midday and 6pm there will be an action packed schedule of workshops, presentations, performances and entertainment.
Working on a not-for-profit basis The Drum gives opportunity to those who do not have access to the internet or media facilities and offers free OCN qualifications. Our community radio station SheffieldLive! brings you the sounds of a lively and diverse city with local DJs, musicians and bands.
Audio Editing and DJ tutorials will be held in the centre’s professional studios while representatives from the radio industry will give talks on improving your radio skills. Entertainment is being provided by up and coming acts such as ‘Khaos Theory’ while other fun includes face painting and performers.
The Drum has been housed in the former NCPM for almost 2 years now. Since the sale of the famous landmark, the Commedia Sheffield project has secured itself as the most positive outcome of this unique building.
This summer promises to be busy for The Drum with appearances at the Devonshire Jam festival, the Sharrow festival and a forthcoming FM broadcast in July. The open day will give people the chance to sign up for training and volunteering, plus refreshments will be provided!
