noseyrosie 19-05-2004, 20:26 Where has Buffy gone? Classic Rock Bar's what you need.
Classic Rock 20-05-2004, 08:44 I'm here!!! Classic Rock Bar, at the bottom of Ecclesall Road, live rock music nightly interspersed with all your favourite rock hits from years ago. Cheap ale too! What are you waiting for?
Leviathan 20-05-2004, 10:38 The Nelson (opposite McDonalds) at the top of the Moor is really good.
It gets really busy on a Friday and Saturday night, and they play a whole range of rock and metal. You can put your requests in too.
They also do very nice cocktails, if you are into that kind of thing.
PuressenceUK 20-05-2004, 11:07 The Sportsman next to Coles has a nice rock flavoured jukebox.
irishguy 20-05-2004, 17:31 you can try the point- under the boardwalk on Snig Hill in the town centre
Agent Dan 21-05-2004, 12:39 I'd recommend the classic rock bar (as above) and the Dove and Rainbow (behind Argos and the Banker's Draft in the city centre).
Stay away from the point, really, unless you're under 18!!!
princess_rockchick 21-05-2004, 14:25 i would recommend the nelson or the sportmans(as above). I know there are more......

Have you been to the Classic Rock Bar yet?

it seems to me that it is a rather older crowd that goes in the point, hence the music that is played there..... whereas, the dove, my own preference in fact, seems to be the place where the young 'uns congregate- not least due to the seats, paving and speakers outside
the nelson is a great little place, haven't been to crb since it was the jolly buffer but will try it soon

Perhaps I'm getting confused with the boardwalk, but whenever I walk past I see young uns sitting outside... There's usually a pretty good mix in the Dove... all the little kids sit outside, which leaves the rest of the pub for us!!
Leviathan 21-05-2004, 16:10 I haven't been to the Dove in a while. I used to go on a Wednesday night, when it was the quiz. Is that still on? I won a set of video's once.....
irishguy 21-05-2004, 17:33 yes mate, you're right about the boardwalk- they have under18 gigs there sometimes, it's usually the bands that are sat outside waiting for mum/dad to pick em up.... bless
