One of the more bizzare theories about 'Jack's' identity is that he was actually a she. This is known as the 'Jill the Ripper' theory. It has always seemed one of the less likely explanations but just to up set the femenists (er I mean to explore an interesting historical conundrum and enliven debate) I have posted this.

I still think it unlikely but it is not beyond the rhelms of possibility.
