Despite numerous people raving about this stuff on the other thread, many of us think this stuff is vile to drink. There are rumoured to be all sorts of more appropriate uses for it. How many can we come up with?
ie It's a magic blackboard cleaner.

DO NOT apply coke to a polished wood surface as it strips it!
The phosphoric acid which is a constituent of the product does this job remarkably well.

0.2% of Coke is Phosphoric acid, hardly enough to strip a table of anything.

Ive spilt coke on polished tables before, or put down a glass (with coke on the bottom) on a polished surface and left it, the only damage was a particually dry coke ring, which was removed easily and the table was as good as new!

It's good for cleaning copper coins.

I also recall reading a Nigella Lawson recipe which was based a south amercian recipe for cooking ham which used quite a lot of it.

Many apologies if you thought I was offering it as some sort of Nitromors substitute, it obviously isn't. However, any damage resulting to the furniture will depend on the coating applied to the surface. We have some furniture, mainly modern that will shrug off most assailants but the Antique stuff would not take kindly to this. The dry coke ring you experienced was almost like oxidised polish that was on the surface, this can sometimes be removed with a cloth and a bit of polish. If this isn't good enough Liberon manufacture probably the best ring remover in the business

Flat coke will settle a dodgy stomach - seriously! Once the carbon bubbles are gone, the PH is close to stomach acid, I believe. Definitely works though.

I think there is a mention for Cola in the anarchist cookbook something to do with boiling it.

i saw an experiment to test these teeth dissolving powers. It's a myth, after 48 hours there was no noticeable or measurable dissolution of said tooth.

I've known it used in theatres on a slanted stage to help stop actors slipping.

It makes a great wasp trap in the Summer too.
