Just did a quick search for this but all info looks a bit old. Now that the Deep End is being turned into a weatherspoons, does anyone know of any open mic nights around shef? Needs to be the kind where a whole band can turn up. Maybe not with a whole drum kit, just some bongos/coupla guitars/singer.

Thought it'd be a good way to get some confidence before we start gigging properly.

OR does anyone already in a band fancy letting us support them? We do our own stuff, soully jazzy funky. Got about 6 songs polished and can easily whip up a few covers if needs be.

The band is called Urban Bluff.

There's a really good one at The Broadfield on a Sunday - good crowd, good atmosphere.

ah cool, the can-u-eat-three-jars-of-jam at the deep end was our original aim. Might check that one out.

The Earl of Arundel might be also worth a try. I've heard that they also do 'Open Decks' Nights for budding DJ's.
